rock collecting skirt

Meet the rock collecting skirt, so named for Junah’s penchant for filling her pockets with rocks.

I’m really proud of the work I’ve done on this pattern.  I used some of my long dormant skills…drafting, technical writing, computer fixing (didn’t count on needing that one) together with sewing, the skill (besides mothering) I’ve worked most on in the past few years.

I’m working on my next pattern now, and trying to restrain myself from working on the six (ten? twenty?) others I also want to work on. One at a time. I’m not going to jinx myself by saying that this time it will be easier and faster because I’ve got the kinks worked out. Because, well, that would be jinxy and I would definitely feel it later. Kind of like when I tell someone my child’s sleep has improved; inevitably I’m awake all night.
