Happy 2012! I've already blown my New Year's resolution…to post every weekday. I don't really make yearly resolutions, much less expect to keep them, but I did have this idle thought that I would try to blog every weekday for awhile. Obviously, as this is the third day of the New Year and a Tuesday, and my first blog post of the year, I didn't achieve this ideal. I have an excuse though! Or two. First, my husband doesn't work on Mondays, so for our family at least, Monday is part of the weekend. Second, all four of us have been sick, yet again, since Christmas. The kids and I've had colds which started just before the big day, and my husband had food poisoning this past weekend. So, we've been otherwise occupied.
I have several picture dependent posts in mind, but as I've not got the pictures for them ready yet, I thought I would share my holiday etsy finds. I had so many ideas for things I could make as gifts for Christmas, but no time to make them (the dollhouses were our priority as far as handmade goes).
In the last few weeks before Christmas I turned to etsy for the majority of our handmade gift giving, and I'm so glad I did. Here are some of the lovely gifts we gave (the etsy.com link below each picture will take you to the shop I purchased from).

Junah is so easy to find fun things for and her stocking held most of our finds. She absolutely loves nests & eggs and this item she loves:
I also found this hairband in her colors (green, pink & brown or black being her favorites):
This felt food set is, I think, the best ever, as it is so interactive (the frosting pieces are separate from the cookies so kidlets can decorate the cookies themselves…and the little rolling pin is part of the package!) . I played with it a bit when we first received it; I couldn't resist. I'm thinking about making a cardboard heart cookie cutter to go with it:
My dear girl always wants to wear lipstick (and wants me to wear it, "You would look so pretty, Momma!") so I found this lip gloss for her. I've order from PetalX once before and love that she includes in her listings whether or not there are FD&C dyes in her products (we try our best to keep our kids artificial dye free):
Rounding out the stocking finds were these "Crayon Cuties" that are a steal at $11.00 dollars each (crayons & pad of paper included!). Junah and Ezra each received one and they now live in my purse and have come in very handy at restaurants recently:
I did dream that I would make one of these for Junah's stocking, but didn't get past ordering the pattern. Now I'm dreaming of a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer for next year's Christmas decorating.
While writing this post, I've come up with another New Year's Resolution…to remember that posts can be brief…so, with that, I'll save the rest of my etsy finds for another one!

Since I began blogging in 2006 I've always had a hard time finding the right balance between family, blogging and all the other demands of life. That's why I'm loving Rachel Meek's ebook
